FreeBSD, PC-BSD and now GhostBSD are now stitched to new pkg-NG. I used it and I think that is possible to adapt it on Desktop BSD. BTW: Maybe it is time to switch to FreeBSD 10 as well. Anyway good job, I am waiting for new release few years.

I hope that Desktop BSD become new GhostBSD and can be much better:) FreeBSD always make problems on VMware, after some maintenance Xorg start working but XFCE still have no working keyboard or mouse so I left it and tried PC-BSD and GhostBSD. There is not so many FreeBSD-based distros for desktop (always problems with VMware). I am a Linux user from Slackware-beginning (SLS Linux 1.02) and RedHat 3.0.3 (not Red Hat Enterprise Linux, I started at 1992) and just try BSD.
