Are anyone tried to upgrade DesktopBSD 1.7 from FreeBSD 7.2 to freeBSD 8.x or 9.x? If yes put here any information.

I successfully upgrade it to 7.2 years ago, but lost all the utilities that made DesktopBSD great, like the tool to mount usb and external hd. I returned to the original DesktopBSD.

Hi John825, Can you tell me how your system runs on dBSD 1.7 currently? I have a laptop with running it and have tried to update even the simplest applications and can't find a way to do it without making the FreeBSD move you made. Thanks for any information!

Currently it is not possible to update it any more, apparently repositories are no longer online. Perhaps the best option is to install the latest version of FreeBSD. Sorry.
